We Made It

After a slight delay do to weather at Miami we launched into the air and arrived at Managua only 35 minutes behind schedule. Not bad. Most everyone enjoyed the flight, save those that slept most of the way. Melody was a trooper. She felt a little nauseous but powered through! Way to go Mel!

Customs was a relative breeze. The only snag was when the airline informed us that six of our bags didn't make it. At least they know where they are! We should get them tomorrow around noon. Brian and two of his daughters, Karly and Abi met us outside and the smiles were everywhere. Plus we had a reception from some of the Managua church staff. How cool was that?! Yami's family was at the airport too. Rosey, Yami's sister, and incredible cook for our Nicaragua meal, greeted us all with a huge smile and an even bigger hug. We presented her with a team t-shirt and she hugged us even tighter!

We boarded a very large bus and drove about 20 clicks out of townto a different hostel from last year. Luis showed his "Bus Ninja" skills all over again. The driveway to the hostel is very tight but he manuevered that bus with the skill of Aaron Rodgers orchestrating a successful fourth quarter, come from behind drive.

The hostel is beautiful. They've done a great job turning a pasture into a welcoming oasis in Nicaragua. We have a large group so they changed the accommodations but it works out fine.

Tomorrow we're off to Leon. We'll check in later.

God bless,
Clif
